Episode # 50 – How to deal with rumination
Until about two weeks ago, I had never heard of the word rumination, let alone its meaning. Someone in the Setubal community was kind enough to send me some information about it, and I started my research.
I love to discover new things and educate myself on the topic, especially something as interesting as ruminating. Just like me, I’m sure you have your share of overthinking and overstressing in your life. If you’re like me, you probably have a PhD in rumination without even realizing it. I mean, who needs a therapist when you have a brain that can replay every embarrassing moment of your life on loop?
Rumination is like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces. You keep going over the same thing, hoping to find a solution, but you never do. It’s like trying to find your keys in a dark room; you keep searching in the same spot even though you know they’re not there.
Rumination is always there, but you don’t have to let it take over your life. So, instead of ruminating, let’s do something fun like watch this video and find out how to deal with it in a less serious but effective way besides mindfulness and meditation.
